How Come You Don’t Have a Well Produced Film On Your Transportation Website?
by Dan Hollis – Sales Director – Grey Sky Films – 12.14.10

People make buying decisions “emotionally”. If they have an emotional ‘attachment’ to a product or service then they
are going to WANT to buy that product
or use that service. Basically, if you win the heart, the mind will follow. That’s
what a really good, well laid out film can accomplish. Film evokes that emotion --and-- most people are visual people.
Films are a most effective way to market and grow YOUR business!

How does this apply to the
transportation industry? Quite simply, there are a variety of ways to tell your stories
through film so as to connect with new and existing customers on a much greater level thus creating all new sales
opportunities. One of the most important, if not the most important aspects of running a successful business today is
when a potential customer comes to your website (which is really your store front.) Now imagine if you will an amazing
‘overview film’ telling your story or perhaps a ‘testimonial film’ highlighting some of your best customers or maybe even
an ‘instructional’ film explaining how to use your services.  Examples can include riders telling how transit saves them
time and money, or how to use technology such as electronic toll collection or fare cards. How about a training film that
brings your employees up to speed quicker than ever. Maybe capture a special event so people get a unique peak
into your world. Even create films to resolve misconceptions people may have about your industry.

In an economy where transportation agencies are being squeezed by budget and service cuts, film provides a cost-
effective means to communicate to a large audience that includes your employees, customers and potential
customers.

Do people really watch videos? Only 25 billion each month in the US alone. Matter of fact, over 85% of the entire
population views online video content regularly! A well produced film creates AIDA. It gets one’s Attention – which
creates Interest – leading to Desire – and ultimately – their taking Action!

Let your films create a human connection in a virtual environment.
